i downloaded the watch the throne album a few days after it came out and i fell in love. No denying i had my favorites but in my eyes they could do no wrong. the words drew me in and the message stole my heart. the whole piece is a work of art and i love every minute. In New Day the lessons learned are heart felt, the old school swing of The joy left me wanting more, and the message in murder to excellence was amazing. the call for the empowerment of black people and the promotion there of has to be taken all in. so of course i wanted to hear them tell me all this in person. that was my hearts desire. when the tour dates dropped i looked up and the tickets for los angeles were sold out. i immediately looked for tickets in other states and i plotted to get to these places if only for one night. i would hear them at whatever the cost. however, real life immediately set in, and i had a statistics class that i had to study for, and tests to take, and brakes to pay for, and it wasn’t looking good for me. unbeknownst to anyone, including herself, my cousin mia had mailed a package that Magically entered her into a contest which she won; the prize was tickets to a concert of her choosing. it was then that i started to believe. the arrangements weren’t set in stone and as luck would have it they announced they opened another LA show. my saving grace; my plan A or plan B. hard takes a day impossible takes a week. i studied hard, made it to all my appointments, got the flu, aced my final, and mia called me to tell me the tickets had arrived and we were confirmed to go. i knew it was meant to be you just gotta believe. we arrived early and when we got to our seats only a few feet from the stage i knew it was real . then the lights went out and then ye walked out and jay came on the mic. my heart couldn’t get any bigger. the best things in life are free and its even better when you can find the love of god in the details. i savor my serendipity.
p.s. kanye apologized for every asshole thats ever been mean to me. he couldn’t have been more sincere. i accepted.
